WS-Transactions Workshop

Just back from the Web Services Transactions Workshop... I believe some official results will be published soon.

From my point of view, the event was a success. We brought our implementations of WS-AtomicTransaction and WS-Coordination and we did not encounter any significant problems.

Hopefully the success of the event will smooth the way toward the submission of WS-AtomicTransaction, WS-BusinessActivity, and WS-Coordination to a standards body.

And of course, as I said, on behalf of the WS-CAF TC, at the WS-Transactions Feedback Workshop last March, it would be great to have an opportunity to merge the WS-CAF and WS-Transactions sets of specifications.

All in all, another relatively small but very important step forward in resolving one of the key Web services technologies.

The only problem was the weather. Although an inch of snow doesn't seem like much to us New Englanders ;-), it certainly created a problem in Raleigh, and broke up the workshop about an hour early...
