I used to be a bit sceptical about Wikipedia degenerating into a forum for endless discussion, but now I'm a Believer and I use it all the time.
Not to mention the great entry on Robert Wyatt, whose version I really like (readers of this blog will not be surprised at that ;-) and Wyatting, of course... (can you believe that?)
ps I vote for keeping Wyatting as a separate entry

WP is great for getting a quick introduction to a technology. It's also useful for newer terms, where a consensus has not yet been reached.
Vendors' white papers naturally tend to present a new technology from the vendor's perspective, and in terms that best suit their own commercial goals. The WP NPOV policy won't eliminate this, but it at least provide a neutral ground where bias can eventually be filtered out. The ESB wikipedia entry is a good example of this.
I'd like to see more use of wikis from software vendors and standards organizations to promote quicker collaboration, faster feedback on specs and documentation. Some ability to approve or stamp an page version will probably be needed however, similar to the versioning proposal currently being considered by the German WP.

Eric, I think you have to vote on Wikipedia, not here.
